Less than six months after playing the Soundwave Festival and a slew of sold out side shows Anberlin are set to return to Australia to treat fans to a very different kind of experience to that they’ve previously experienced on our shores. This August, Australian audiences will be treated to, for the first time anywhere in the world, ‘An Evening With Anberlin’. This will showcase Anberlin like no-one, anywhere, has ever seen before. The band is excited to be able to share this with Australia, but have had to remain tight lipped while everything slotted into place. Stephen Christian, the band’s  vocalist, says of ‘An Evening With Anberlin’;

“We love touring Australia and can’t wait to get back- it’s always too long between drinks. This time, we’re stoked to be able to offer our fans who’ve stuck with us over the years something that’s just as new and special to us as it is for them. ‘An Evening With Anberlin’ will be just that. Each of the shows we will be doing different things, different feels than we have ever done in any one show. We might be doing some special covers, different variations on our own songs, telling stories behind the recordings and writing, maybe a Q&A with the audience, never before played b-sides, an intimate acoustic portion, and perhaps some special guest vocalists on stage, as well as all the passion and energy that we try and give Australia each time we come back. Rest assured, we will leave it all on stage for these shows like never before.

We think those that have been there with us from Day One will really get into the rarities, but there’ll be plenty there for those that have come on board more recently- there’ll definitely be something for everyone. This is totally new to us – safe to say we’re beyond excited to share this experience with our favourite audiences on the planet!”

Friday 26th August – Capitol, Perth
Saturday 27th August – Thebarton Theatre, Adelaide
Sunday 28th August – Palace Theatre, Melbourne
Thursday 1st September – Enmore Theatre, Sydney
Friday 2nd September – The HiFi, Brisbane

New Navy are one of these bands who just gain attention where ever they go. Already in their not-too-lengthy careers, they have played alongside the likes of Miami Horror, Wolfmother, Dappled Cities, Grafton Primary and everyone’s favourites – The Philly Js. Now having their latest track ‘Zimbabwe’ as the Featured Track on Triple J’s Unearthed, they’re receiving more interest than ever.

The four New Navy lads are from Sydney and primarily write songs about escaping the every day obligations of work and home life and exchanging these for holidays, beach parties, sunsets and other seemingly distant fantasies. Their track ‘Zimbabwe’ off their latest EP entitled ‘Uluwatu’ features strong vocals, catchy melodic hooks and swings and driving percussive sections. If you dig the Holidays, Miami Horror and Local Natives, you’ll drool over these guys.
