Pearl Jam, who are currently celebrating their 20th anniversary whilst they work on their tenth studio offering, have announced that they’ve teamed up with Dogfish Ale Craft Brewery to produce a special limited edition beer to commemorate the occasion.
The Delaware based brewer, who has worked with artists before such as Mile Davis and Robert Johnson, said on their website, “Faithfull Ale is a celebration of Pearl Jam’s 20th anniversary as a band and its extraordinary debut album, Ten. In recognition of these milestones, this Belgian-style golden ale is delicately hopped to 20 IBUs and fruit-forward from 10 incremental additions of black currants over a one-hour boil. Faithfull will clock in at 7% ABV.”
“To me, ‘Ten’ is the perfect example of a record-lover’s-record. The whole thing rocks,” says Dogfish Head President & Founder Sam Calagione. “As an off-centered brewery, we believe in celebrating the breadth of our whole portfolio and we feel an affinity for Pearl Jam a long-player band in a singles-obsessed world.”
The name of the drop, ‘Faithfull Ale’, is taken from Pearl Jam song ‘Faithfull’ from 1998 album Yield.They plan on making it available as a draft and in 750ml bottles in all 50 states of the USA. No word how international fans can get their hands on a bottle. eBay anyone?
