Chart-topping superstar Adele looks set to make her full-fledged return, with a source reporting she’ll be releasing new music very soon.

It might seem hard to believe, but this November marks the fourth anniversary of Adele’s third album, 25. While it feels just yesterday that we were hearing tracks like ‘Hello’ all over the radio, it also marks four years since we heard any new music from the English icon.

Earlier this year though, Adele celebrated her 31st birthday by looking back on a year which saw her split from husband Simon Konecki after eight years together. Touching on the topic of new music, the singer explained that anyone hoping for a break-up record would be sorely disappointed.

“Bunch of fucking savages, 30 will be a drum n bass record to spite you,” she joked. “Chin up eh.”

Now, it appears that new music is closer than ever, with sources telling People that the musician is gearing up for another gruelling album cycle.

“She is definitely getting ready both mentally and physically to promote new music,” the unnamed source explained. “It seems it will happen later this year.

“She talks about last year as a very difficult year, and she’s said in the past that creating new music is almost like therapy. You can tell that she is ready to share with her fans.

“She is very fulfilled being an artist. New music is still a big deal for her, and she feels alive and happy.”

While Adele hasn’t released new music since 2015, it’s been over two years since she graced the live stage as well, with the final shows of her 2017 tour being cancelled amidst health issues.

Although rumours of a retirement from the live stage did circulate, if these claims by a source close to the artist are indeed true, it looks like we could see more massive shows from the world-beating artist in the future.
