When escapism through art is the only solace in our current volatile global climate, Sorry‘s debut album 925 is exactly the rabbit hole you want to fall down.

As North Londoners Asha Lorenz and Louis O’Bryen – along with drummer Lincoln Barrett and bassist Campbell Baum offer a welcome reprieve with bruised love songs (‘Snakes’), young debauchery (‘Ode To Boy’s’), and heart-on-sleeve confessions (‘Lies’, ‘Heather’), you’re reminded of the power of music.

Co-produced by James Dring (Gorillaz, Jamie T, Nilüfer Yanya), Lorenz and Louis O’Bryen, 925 lays all its inspirations bare. From Hermann Hesse to Aphex Twin and crooner Tony Bennett, Sorry are without limits and primed for cult-like favouritism.

Lorenz said of the record:

“I think the pain and uncertainty of not knowing what’s going on sometimes gets resolved when you put it into a song, your desires materialise into something comical. The song reminds you of
something that hasn’t even happened but the feeling that you get somehow lives and makes
you feel as though you have experienced it.

“I find it interesting when people who haven’t fallen in love or felt something still feel as though they have, like you can place ideas and character into people’s minds. They can still think of the person they love through the person you love.”

Co-producer, and co-conspirator in Sorry, Louis O’Bryen added:

“We want this album to be for our friends and family and when fans listen to it, to treasure it in the same way, like a piece of jewellery given to you by a loved one.”
