It seems that when it comes to metal it’s all legal stoushes at the moment, so what better time for some feel-good news?!
Metalcore pioneers All That Remains have today announced that Jason Richardson (Born of Osiris, Chelsea Grin) is their permanent new guitarist, taking the place of the late Oli Herbert who passed away last year.
“Jason Richardson is now an official member of the band,” said an online statement.
“Some recent interviews were conducted before a decision was made or announced regarding Jason. But the band has indeed welcomed him into the fold as an official member and is excited to get back on the tour and play for fans.”

It’s no doubt been one hell of a rollercoaster for the band in the past few months.
With Herbert’s death being treated as suspicious by police, the band chose to continue to perform live with Richardson as a live guitarist, but have been open about trying to figure out the best way forward for the band.
In a recent interview with Decibel, frontman Phil Labonte revealed that Richardson and Herbert had been friends for some time and that the two would “hang out and talk guitar and listen to music and stuff.”

Labonte went on to reveal that “when Oli passed away, Jason did a cover of him playing ‘Chiron’ and then Aaron [Patrick], our bass player, reached out to Jason and said ‘Hey, you sounded really good. Would you be interested in filling in if we went and needed you to come aboard?’”
“He came in and nailed everything and really kind of saved our ass. He made it easier on us when it comes to the grieving side of it.”
Despite what has no doubt been a traumatic time, the band will be hitting the road next month in the US for a mammoth tour package, headlining alongside Atilla, Escape The Fate & Sleep Signals. Find out what the band are up to here.
