Remember Julia Stiles? she was the actress who played opposite Heath Ledger in the movie 10 Things I Hate About You. She’s gone onto do other roles but for the younger generation this fole is her most memorable. This video is Allday’s ode to her while also using her last name ‘Stiles’ in another context, possessing multiple ‘styles’ as a rapper.
The video was shot on tour at the Gold Coast, and was directed by Alex Bowden, featuring a bunch of Allday’s mates and his DJ.
Julia Stiles is a return to 90s sounding ‘boom bap’ beats and surreal, tongue in cheek lyrics for me. The track will also appear on a mixtape entitled ‘Soon I’ll Be In Cali 2’ which is out at the end of July.
