Earlier this morning, Anohni decided to come out strongly against the fashion industry for ever having associated itself with Kanye West and in turn, Donald Trump.

Kanye West has been known to support Donald Trump for quite some time now, and not everyone is still willing to forgive him for coming out as a Trump supporter. This morning, Anohni made a strong statement against Kanye West and also the fashion industry, who continually prop the man up and an ingenue. In an Instagram post which has since been deleted, Anohni writes that anyone who works on West’s products or attends his Sunday Service events is in turn, helping support Trump’s “sociopathic genocidal agenda.”

Kanye’s support of Trump dates back to the days of the 2016 election, and although he has been keeping tight-lipped about the president of the United States, he hasn’t gone back on his stance. Anohni has a small connection with Kanye West through their mutual collaborator, Hudson Mohawke. HudMo produced half of Anohni’s 2016 album Hopelessness and has worked with West many times. (he also has had his own issues with West.)

On Instagram, Anohni writes that fashion-industry people who work with West “are producing rightwing propaganda with every tweet of elation, record cover, choreography or peal of ‘Christian’ joy that you contribute to West’s dangerous campaign.”

Anohni elaborated, saying that support for West and his fashion career in the industry meant implicitly endorsing Donald Trump’s agenda. “Lending your talents to West’s product campaigns and your caches to the normalization of his heinous message endangers the lives of gay people, women, poor, working and middle classes, and the environment itself,” she said. “You are producing right-wing propaganda with every tweet of elation, record cover, choreography or peal of ‘Christian’ joy that you contribute to West’s dangerous campaign.”

The post on Instagram has since been taken down and deleted.
