Never forget your roots kids! It would appear that rock stardom and playing stadium gigs across the US and Europe hasn’t affected the Arcade Fire and gone to their head. Will Butler of the band is set to deliver at a lecture at his old university. He’s heading back to school on November 2nd to speak at Northwestern University in Chicago where he majored in creative writing and poetry. He will pontificate on how he’s mixed a career in music with social activism at the University’s Centre For Civic Engagement. The University has also coyly responded to media enquiries by saying that Butler “might treat students to an impromptu performance, but nothing is planned yet”.
