A dedicated fan of American metalcore band Attila has received the ultimate honour, with the group spreading his ashes on their tour bus.

For almost 15 years now, Atlanta metalcore outfit Attila have been touring the world with their brutal sound. Having released seven full-length albums since 2007, the group have amassed quite a dedicated fanbase, with their followers expressing their love in a variety of ways.

Now, one fan has been given the most metal send-off ever, with his ashes being spread on the band’s tour bus.

Taking to Twitter yesterday afternoon, Attila frontman Chris “Fronz” Fronzak shared the news amongst his followers.

“A big Attila fan died and his friend brought his ashes to us,” Fronz explained. “We dumped some out inside our tour bus so he can party with us forever.”

“We love you homie rest in peace.”

Fronz also shared another image showing the fan’s ashes on the ground as he held a beer. “I’m partying with you right now bro. I miss you, but I’m happy you’re here with me, cheers.”

Oddly, this isn’t the first time that such an incident has occurred, with a somewhat similar event happening at the Melbourne leg of Download Festival last week.

As Wall of Sound’s James “Plugga” Birkin wrote on Twitter, a group of friends descended upon Download Festival in Melbourne, intent on spreading their late mate’s ashes during Slayer’s expectedly brutal set.

However, with these two friends becoming rather inebriated quite early in the day, the pair ended up spreading the ashes during the set of English duo Slaves. To make things worse, the ashes ended up going right into the face of a nearby security guard.

While it seems as though the ashes of Attila’s dedicated fan were spread in a much more dignified way, we have to commend the metalcore act for giving one of their biggest fans the send-off we know he would have wanted.
