Australia has felt the wrath of mother nature over the past couple of weeks, the east coast being rocked with severe storms which has caused a shocking amount of damage over a massive area, resulting in a music festival to completely cancel it’s whole weekend of celebrations.
The ever-popular three-day event, Urban Country Music Festival, was forced to call-off the entire festival due to wild weather.
Held in Caboolture, Queensland, over Friday 1 – Sunday 3 May, festival organisers advised that due to the inclement weather, extreme damage caused to the site and equipment and safety concerns for the public, the 2015 Urban Country Music Festival could not operate.
Unfortunately for both fans and the playing artists, the festival has decided to call-off the event all together, noting that all ticket holders would be receiving a full refund instead of a potential reschedule to a later date. Organisers have directed ticket holds to their Facebook for future updates on the refund processes.
In an official statement, Urban Country Music Fest wrote “We wish to thank everyone for their support of the 2015 Festival and we could not be more disappointed in today’s outcome.”
The event was headlined by a strong cast of performers, including British India, Augie March, Cloud Control, Lee Kernaghan, Last Dinosaurs and many more artists.
Urban Country Music Festival has grown in popularity since its inception in 2004, playing host to a diverse range of talented Aussie acts with over 100 musos listed to perform at this year’s event alone.
