Last week, we wrote about Phoenix, Arizona metal outfit and now viral sensations Okilly Dokilly, the world’s first Ned Flanders-themed metal band. Our readers thought the exact same thing we did: “What took someone so long?”
However, fellow Simpsons-inspired metallers Dr. Colossus weren’t as chuffed with the sight of the five moustachioed musos in green sweaters and pink polos. The Melbourne outfit have now unveiled a self-described ‘Ned Flanders diss-track’.
According to the band, the track, which the band have naturally titled ‘Stupid. Sexy. Flanders.’, isn’t a diss on the band so much as the actual Ned Flanders himself, which is to say the fictional character from The Simpsons.
“It is purely coincedental that our track ‘Stupid Sexy Flanders’ has been released at the same time as a Ned Flanders themed band decided to destroy the internet. People are making out like there’s some beef between the bands,” say Dr. Colossus.
“As far as we’re concerned you must treat your neigbour as you wish to be treated. It’s a diss track sure – But against Flanders himself, any similarities to people or bands is purely coincidental. We encourage all bands to base their songs on The Simpsons.”
