It’s been a few years since Australian fans were treated to a live show by hard-rockers Avenged Sevenfold, but if AJ Maddah is to be believed, then we might be seeing a tour by A7X sooner rather than later.
AJ Maddah last managed to bring Avenged Sevenfold out to Australia in 2014 for the now-defunct Soundwave Festival, which also featured the likes of Green Day, The Dillinger Escape Plan, and Eagles Of Death Metal that year. However the famously outspoken music promoter has now been seen on Twitter sharing some info about a potential Aussie tour for the group, as MusicFeeds notes.
Following a couple of his followers inquiring about the potential of an upcoming Avenged Sevenfold tour, AJ Maddah responded, giving fans some hope for the near future.

They have been talking to Aus promoters and I’m sure we will see them on this tour. I’d love for them to be supporting Metallica.

“They like Australia and do want to tour. They’re not as massive here as they are in U.S/Europe, so it is costly/difficult to tour regularly,” Maddah said. “They have been talking to Aus promoters and I’m sure we will see them on this tour. I’d love for them to be supporting Metallica.”
Currently, Avenged Sevenfold only have dates lined up for America at the start of next year, bringing eager fans music from their most recent record, 2016’s The Stage. However, that tour wraps up at the end of February, so if Maddah’s hope that “we will see them on this tour” is accurate, then that’s a pretty perfect time for them to head out on tour.
Likewise, Soundwave 2013 was the last time that Metallica made it to Aussie shores, so it’s certainly high time for both groups to make their way to Aussie shores. Considering we were given promising indications of a 2017 Aussie tour by Metallica last year, we’re still waiting for that to occur. However, with the band announcing a world tour earlier this year, it looks like it’s about time they announced an Aussie stop, right?
Whether or not the tour happens remains to be seen, but let’s face it, that would be one monstrous lineup if it did indeed happen.
