Transformers actor and one of the internet’s favourite people, Shia LaBeouf, was having a little too much fun during Austin City Limits festival, the second weekend of which kicked off in the titular Texan city over the weekend.

A band by the name of Down To Friend captured the actor as he was being placed under arrest by local police officers. As KVUE reports, LaBeouf got into an altercation with police after he was stopped for jaywalking and arrested for public intoxication.

“The reason he got arrested originally is because he was jaywalking across the street over to [a bar there],” witness Noah Hubbard told KVUE. “He got all in the cops’ face and they told him not to do that, he started cussing them out and stuff, he was clearly wide-eyed.”

“I don’t know man, he’s clearly here for [Austin City Limits Festival] but I guess he just wanted to come party tonight and I guess he took it a little too hard.” LaBeouf was taken to Travis County Jail where he was booked for the misdemeanour.

“When I saw him he wasn’t saying anything really. He was just being really quiet. I guess he knew what he’d gotten himself into and he just didn’t want to make it worst but it’s pretty interesting to see celebrities getting arrested downtown,” said another witness.

According to KVUE, earlier in the evening, another witness saw the 29-year-old former Disney star helping a woman who apparently passed out and fell down. He was also nice enough to take a few pictures with fans.

Meanwhile, Down To Friend have a bone to pick with infamous tabloid TMZ. The band openly shared their video of LaBeouf’s arrest with media outlets in exchange for free publicity, except for TMZ, who posted the clip without a plug.

Austin City Limits recently wrapped up its second weekend. This year’s instalment featured a massive lineup featuring Drake, Disclosure, Deadmau5, and even a few Aussies for good measure, including Tame Impala and Vance Joy.
