The Dead Heir are a rising six-piece from Melbourne who produce freak-out stoner-psych tunes, and their latest ‘Wolves At My Door’ is an absolute pearler with easily the best accompanying video, well, sort of.

The sextet have followed a slightly different avenue to visually release their epic new song, they’ve actually created an 8-bit video game that’s so addictive that the entire Tone Deaf office are currently fighting to hit the highest score.

As ‘Wolves At My Door’ burns in the background, players control a long-haired feller who is on the hunt for as many bottles of beer that he can possible find in the northern suburbs of Melbourne.

From passing live music institutions including The Tote Hotel, Grace Darling, The John Curtin Hotel and more, to jumping over milk crates, crushing skating wolves and fighting fire-breathing super-sized enemies – this is one game you definitely need to play.

Al Hancock from the band said the following of the game, “Instead of the traditional video accompaniment to the single, Chris our drummer has ‘wasted’ weeks of his time making a trippy 8-bit video game to compliment the song.”

The Dead Heir are launching the new single Friday 12 June at the Evelyn Hotel in Fitzroy and they’ve enlisted a killer list of supports including BREVE, The Shabbab , James Seedy and Tiprats – click here to attend the Facebook event.

Until the night of excellent live music, prepare to “smash” as many beers as you can listening to ‘Wolves At My Door’ and playing the game right here.

UPDATE: Too many of you have been trying to play the game at once and the server has crashed. In the meantime, watch the pro-run from the Game Master himself, and then you can come back later and try to smash more beers than him!
