New York’s experimental math-rock band Battles have amicably parted ways with their lead singer Tyondai Braxton, reportedly due to his dislike of touring. The band released a statement on their label’s website Warp.net that touring and recording commitments were making it difficult for Braxton to concentrate on his own solo material.
The message ended saying “It is a sad but amicable split. Battles wishes Tyondai all the best.” Battles’ second album is due for release at the end of the year, followed by a full touring schedule in 2011.
