Watch: Beau Lightning – ‘Last Night’

The Man With No Name in The Good, the Bad, the Ugly played by Clint Eastwood

A cowboy of few words, dressed in the language of the wild, wild west. He’s serious, mysterious and walks with a swagger that could compete with some of the coolest. The Good, the Bad, the Ugly is considered one of the greatest westerns of all time, if not, the greatest, not only has this character helped shape Beau Lightning, but the soundtrack is something I regularly listen to and draw sonic inspiration from.

The Driver from Drive, played by Ryan Gosling.

If you watch the music video for my track ‘Last Night’, it’s pretty easy to see a connection between the two characters.

Gosling plays an anti-hero, a mechanic by day, and a getaway driver by night. In the ‘Last Night’ clip, Beau is dressed in an old mechanics outfit coasting around in his vintage red whip, undertaking what appears to be some fairly dubious activities.

Rod Kimble of Hot Rod played by Andy Samberg

Rod is a wannabe motorcycle stuntman with delusions of granger. A man that believes he is a hell of a lot better than he is, and it’s hilarious to watch.

He’s a guy that thinks he can do things that he can’t. I kind of see Beau Lightning like that, an arrogant wannabe rock star that just isn’t at the level he believes he is.

Dewy Finn from School of Rock played by Jack Black
You’ll see how he fits in after the music video for ‘Smoke In Your Lungs’ is released in September.

Randy ‘The Ram’ Robinson of The Wrestler played by Mickey Rourke

Randy is a ‘has-been’ in an industry that is about as fake and fraudulent as the music industry, professional wrestling. In the film The Wrestler, Randy is getting older, his body is decaying and he’s been out of the game for some time. He’s doing everything he can to make a come back while all of life’s challenges face him at the same time. You can probably hear some of this personality come out through the Lightning track ‘Rock ’n’ Roll Life’.
