Beyoncé has received double nominations for her Netflix special Beyoncé Bowl at the 2025 Primetime Emmy Awards.
The special, which showcased her NFL 2024 Christmas Day Halftime Show performance, has been recognised in the categories of Outstanding Directing for a Variety Special and Outstanding Variety Special (Live).
Beyoncé co-directed the special with Alex Rudzinski, marking her first Emmy nominations since 2019 when her Homecoming: A Film by Beyoncé received four nods, according to Rolling Stone. These latest nominations also present the opportunity for the superstar to secure her first Primetime Emmy win.
In the Outstanding Directing for a Variety Special category, Beyoncé Bowl will compete against Kendrick Lamar’s Apple Music Super Bowl LIX Halftime Show, The Oscars, SNL 50: The Anniversary Special, SNL 50: The Homecoming Concert, and the 77th Annual Tony Awards. The special faces the same competitors in the Outstanding Variety Special (Live) category.

The recognition extends beyond Beyoncé’s directing work, with choreographers Tyrik Patterson, Charm La’Donna, Christopher Grant, and Parris Goebel receiving a nomination for Outstanding Choreography for Variety or Reality Programming. Their nomination specifically highlights routines from Cowboy Carter tracks “Sweet Honey Buckiin'” and “Texas Hold ‘Em,” as well as the single “My House.” Notably, La’Donna secured an additional nomination for choreographing “Humble” and “Not Like Us” for Lamar’s halftime show.
The acclaim for Beyoncé Bowl continues with a nomination for Outstanding Production Design for a Variety Special, placing it alongside the 67th Annual Grammy Awards, the Oscars, and both SNL50 specials in this category.

In 2019, “Homecoming” received nominations across four categories: Outstanding Variety Special (Pre-Recorded), Outstanding Directing for a Variety Special, Outstanding Music Direction, and Outstanding Writing for a Variety Special.
