After releasing two of the most seminal albums of 2019, Big Thief are coming to Australia to bring their unique class of indie-folk to our humble, undeserving stages.

Love Police and Remote Control Records are thrilled to announce that Big Thief will return to Australia in May 2020 to play shows in Melbourne and Brisbane. Following on from two near sell-out tours and a Meredith Music Festival appearance in 2017, Big Thief will play The Corner in Melbourne on Tuesday 19th May (presented by Triple R) and Brisbane’s The Zoo on Thursday 21st May (presented by Jet Black Cat Music). Full tour dates and ticketing information are below. Sydney show details to be announced soon!

In 2019 Big Thief released two critically acclaimed albums via 4AD / Remote Control Records. Two Hands – “the earth twin” released in October followed on from the May release of U.F.O.F. – “the celestial twin” – a universally beloved album described by Pitchfork as“a true masterpiece of folk music from a band working together at the highest level” and now nominated for a GRAMMY in the Best Alternative Music Album category.

While some have looked on in wonderment at this prolific band’s decision to release two substantial releases in the same year, the decision was, as with every decision the band makes, eminently intentional and deeply considered. Two Hands is a partner to U.F.O.F.

We caught up with Buck Meek of Big Thief following the release of the celestial and otherworldy U.F.O.F., and you can catch that interview HERE.
