Line dancing legend and father of Miley Cyrus, Billy Ray Cyrus is currently taking Australia by storm on his first tour of the country in 25 years. Aside from taking in the natural wonders, landmarks and tourist haunts, it seems Billy has immersed himself in the local music scene as well.

Taking to Twitter, the country stalwart revealed he’s apparently a bit of a fan of Adelaide’s finest duo – The Hard Aches.

Now, we could take this two ways – The Hard Aches are undeniably one of the country’s leading acts in blistering emo, combining the earnestness of  Aussie pub rock and biting, sombre lyricism – it’s hard to see why anyone would deny themselves the pleasure of enjoying the band. On the other hand, old mate is probably under the impression the band are named after his smash, ‘Achy Breaky Heart’.

However, since we’ve seen Billy’s comedic talents come to life on the show Hannah Montana all those years ago, we know that he’s all business in the front and party in the back when it comes to taking himself too seriously.

The Hard Aches are set to release their upcoming second LP entitled Mess on April 13th, a follow up to last year’s incredible Brain Dead, single that showcases their penchant for equally catchy and soul-crushingly sad hooks.

Mess comes from a place of hope, a feeling of knowing that everything is going to be ok regardless of how hard it might be sometimes,” vocalist Ben Davis explains.
