After months of teasing, blink-182 have officially announced the release of their new album. Nine is set for release on September 20th via Columbia records.
Nine is comprised of 15 songs, including previously released tracks ‘Happy Days’, ‘Generational Divide’ and ‘Blame It On My Youth.’ It is the band’s first full-length offering since 2016’s California.
Watch: blink-182 – ‘Blame It On My Youth’
Back in February, Travis Barker revealed that the new record harkens back to the band’s self-titled record. “I’m really excited because we’re about 70 percent finished with our album,” Barker stated. “I feel like this is the closest we’ve come to something like [2003’s] Blink-182 since that album, which is one of my favorite Blink albums by far.”
“I feel like [2016’s] California was similar to [1999’s] Enema of the State and [2001’s] Take Off Your Pants and Jacket: reestablishing the band, giving fans what they really want and expect from Blink,” he continued.
blink-182 are currently in the midst of a co-headlining tour with Lil Wayne, who, during the Virginia leg of the tour, walked off midstage and announced he was “probably” quitting the tour. However, Weezy did not stick to his word and continues to lend his talents to the hot mess of a tour.
