Ladies and gentlemen, we’ve got ’em, the Navy have fully confirmed that videos shared by Tom DeLonge’s alien academy do, in fact, show “unidentified aerial phenomena.” Yeah, ex-Blink 182 member Tom DeLonge has an alien academy.

The former Blink-182 vocalist and guitarist founded an organisation called To the Stars Academy of Arts and Sciences in 2017. The organisation seeks to “advance society’s understanding of scientific phenomena and its technological implications” — in other words, it’s a UFO watchdog. Crazy as it sounds.

The academy released three videos and yep, the Navy are not too pleased that their secrets are being revealed. Blink-182 the Navy are coming for you.

In a statement to Vice, Navy spokesperson Joseph Gradisher confirmed that “the Navy considers the phenomena contained/depicted in those three videos as unidentified.”

As Vice notes, UFO hobbyists are using the phrase “unidentified aerial phenomena,” rather than “unidentified flying object,” to refer to soaring discs and mysterious spheres. UAP doesn’t have quite the same ring as UFO though.

In a statement to Politico, the Navy nodded to “a number of reports of unauthorized and/or unidentified aircraft entering various military-controlled ranges and designated airspace in recent years.”

“For safety and security concerns, the Navy and the [U.S. Air Force] takes these reports very seriously and investigates each and every report.”

Essentially to sum it up for you, UFOs are real, according to the Navy, considering the objects caught on video remain unidentified. Are they alien buddies coming to greet us? Who knows. But Blink-182 star turned guardian of the galaxy, Tom DeLonge, continues, binoculars pointed to the skies, to keep the skies safe for us humble humans.

Delonge took to social media to share his excitement, writing:

“I was in New York yesterday getting ready for our show when my phone explodes with messages that the Navy has acknowledged that the three videos taken by their fighter pilots really do show unidentified aerial phenomenon. I applaud their lifting the silence. THIS IS HUGE! The @tothestarsacademy team has been working tirelessly in Washington to move the subject of UAPs past stigma and toward acceptance. You’ve seen a glimpse of our efforts on @history’s docuseries #Unidentified.

“You’ve seen the conversation change in the mainstream media over the last couple of years. You’ve seen our Government leaders start to ask questions that haven’t been asked in a long time. The Navy even recently announced a policy change that made it easier for its personnel to report unusual sightings, which is a giant first. But this acknowledgement by the Navy is unprecedented. Facts are starting to replace unsubstantiated claims and the fog that has masked the reality of UAPs is clearing. WE ARE MAKING REAL PROGRESS – I AM SO EXCITED!!”
