Bob Dylan will be able to play an extra date at the Byron Bay Blues Festival after the local Byron Shire Council convened an extraordinary meeting to approve the Festival continuing for an extra day to include the Anzac Day public holiday.

Organisers had been preparing to go to court to force the council’s hand, but in a meeting late last week six out of seven members of the council voted to approve the extension to the event which will now take place over six rather than the usual five days.

The stellar line-up includes music legends Elvis Costello, BB King and Grace Jones.
