British quartet Bombay Bicycle Club – past NME ‘Best New Band’ winners, Ivor Novello Award nominees and UK Top Ten act – are cycling their way back to Australia for another 2012 showing, following their sold-out tour in March that caused a ticketing frenzy and change of venues.

Following on from their appearance at Falls Festival, the UK quarter will be playing nation-wide in January, venturing to Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane.

Following the release of their current album A Different Kind of Fix, last March saw Bombay Bicycle Club play their debut Australian shows as special guests to fellow Brits, Elbow, plus four headline club shows.

Overwhelming demand for tickets to their Melbourne club show forced a move into a larger venue, whilst Sydney fans demanded a second show.

The band released their 2009 debut album, ‘I Had the Blues But I Shook Them Loose’, on their homegrown label, Mmm Records The following year they won NME’s Best New Band award and released sophomore album, Flaws. The stripped back, folk-influenced release graced the UK Top 10 and was nominated for
an esteemed Ivor Novello Award. September 2011 brought Bombay Bicycle Club’s critically acclaimed and most popular album to date, A Different Kind Of Fix.

The Triple J feature album reveals on-going musical explorations, challenging any preconceptions and would-be pigeon-holing of the band’s sound; confirming their vitality, diversity and creativity of snappy gems such as ‘Shuffle’, ‘How Can You Swallow So Much Sleep’ and ‘Leave It’.

Tickets for Bombay Bicycle Club’s 2013 welcome return go on sale 10am Tuesday October 2. My Live Nation members can secure tickets first in the exclusive pre-sale commencing midday today. Head to www.livenation.com.au to register.
