David Bowie infamously never won very many Grammy awards throughout his incomparable career, with only a sole nod for best video in ’85 (out of 12 nominations) adding to his admittedly huge honour of the ‘Lifetime Achievement Award’ a decade back.

Now, however, he’s picked up five of the awards in a single year as he was posthumously honoured at this year’s Grammys for his final stirring work, Blackstar. The record picked up ‘Best Engineered Album, Non-Classical’, ‘Best Recording Package’, and ‘Best Alternative Album’ itself, while the title track also took out ‘Best Rock Performance’ and ‘Best Rock Song’.

Bowie’s son, film director Duncan Jones, posted an glimpse into the pair’s relationship in an emotional Tweet expressing his love for his dad.

Jones was famously critical of Lady Gaga’s tribute medley performed at last year’s Grammys, and is no doubt a lot more content seeing his father being honoured in this way instead.
