As we count down the hours until the triple j Hottest 100 kicks off, Brisbane-based craft brewery legends BrewDog have raised the stakes, promising DJ’s Mashd N Kutcher a share in the brewery if they place.

If there was one novelty song that defined the 2020 experience, it’s Mashd N Kutcher’s ‘Get On The Beers ft Victorian Premier Dan Andrews’ remix. It offered alleviation and silliness in a year that felt so overwhelmingly dour, especially for our friends in Melbourne.

To celebrate the track, Brewdog has launched an exclusive “Get On The beers” themed six-pack, that’ll be gifted to those who take part in their Equity for Punks crowdfunding initiative.

Equity For Punks is BrewDog’s way of achieving a better, more sustainable future for their business. In 2020, the brewery announced they were officially carbon negative — now they’re set on upping the ante on setting a new precedent for a planet-friendly business.

So how do you cop one of these hallowed six packs? Essentially, anyone who buys shares in BrewDog from the OnMarket offer page before 11th February will automatically receive a six-pack as a thank you gift. To find out more, head here.

That’s not all, BrewDog has also announced that they will pledge part ownership of their Aussie brewery to fellow Brisbane hometown heroes Mashd N Kutcher if they score a place in the top 20 of the nations favourite countdown.

This feat doesn’t seem at all far-fetched. In fact, The Hottest 100 predictions site 100 Warm Tunas, have predicted that ‘Get On The Beers’ is set to land at number #16.

A potential placement should come as no surprise considering the enormous success of the track which hit #2 on iTunes, racked up 1.2 million plays on Spotify and inspired two Christmas light displays, ‘Get On The Beers’ is clearly a track that reflects the mood of the nation.

The Hottest 100 countdown will take place on Saturday 23rd January.
