It’s a collaboration between two of music’s biggest heavyweights, with Brian Johnson of AC/DC and Joe Walsh of the Eagles revealing they’ve been in the studio together.
On paper, the two musicians couldn’t be any different. With AC/DC’s Brian Johnson being known for his screamed vocals, hard-rock attitude, and penchant for loud noises, and for the Eagles’ Joe Walsh known for his work as a renowned guitarist in a band often classified as “soft rock”.
However, with more than a century of musical experience between them, it appears that the two icons of rock music are making some beautiful music together, with Joe Walsh revealing a collaboration on social media.
Taking to Instagram yesterday, Walsh shared a picture of himself and Brian Johnson, revealing that the pair had been in the studio.
“Great day making music with my old pal Brian today in London,” he wrote. “We nailed it! Love ya man!”
While the details regarding the collaboration are under wraps at the moment, Blabbermouth has speculated that the pair could be working on a song they created while Joe Walsh appeared on an episode of Brian Johnson’s A Life On The Road television program earlier this year.
In related news, fans of AC/DC were excited to hear earlier this year that Brian Johnson is reportedly not only recording a new record with the group, but slated to tour in support of the new album too.
While fans were shocked to learn in 2016 that Brian Johnson had departed from AC/DC on “doctor’s orders” related to hearing loss, rumours from engineer Mike Fraser indicated that the iconic vocalist is back in the band these days.
Similarly, music journalist Eddie Trunk later noted how sources had told him the same thing, along with news that a full-scale tour was on the way as well.
“I think it’s pretty much a done deal that AC/DC at the very least are going to release some sort of record and it’ll be some sort of record and it’ll be some sort of tribute to Malcolm [Young] just like Back In Black was a tribute to Bon [Scott],” Trunk explained.
“So I have no doubt about that and I’m pretty confident they’re probably going to do shows as well. But I think at this point it’s pretty much just when they announce it.”
Of course, we’ve got a while to wait before we hear any new AC/DC songs, or this new collaboration with Brian Johnson and Joe Walsh, but either way, fans are undoubtedly excited to see what comes our way.
