Coming off a massive 2014, our leading lady of pop Sia Furler has hit 2015 hard, turning heads with her unbelievable live performance at The Grammys as well as starring on Kanye West’s new track, and keeping the fire alight, she’s already announced her brand new record, This Is Acting, as well as some shocking info about her last album.
Speaking in a recent interview with NME, Furler revealed that her cataclysmic record 1000 Forms Of Fear was an album she’d put together so she could get out of her current contract quicker, meaning that one of 2014’s biggest records was just a lil’ something to speed up her freedom process.

“Basically, I put this out to get out of my publishing deal. I was planning to be a pop song writer for other artists. But my publishing deal was as an artist so I had to put one more album out. I didn’t want to get famous so I kept all the songs I wanted and had a lot of fun making it” she admits.
A known songwriter for a myriad of leading popstars around the globe, Furler initially wanted to “quit music” and return to penning tracks for others, however the joy she found in being in the spotlight from 1000 Forms Of Fear inspired her to continue releasing her own material, which will be This Is Acting.

Detailing the brand-spankin’ new record, she commented, “I’m super productive. I have a full album ready to go and it’s much more pop. I’m calling it ’This Is Acting’ because they are songs I was writing for other people, so I didn’t go in thinking ’this is something I would say’. It’s more like play-acting. It’s fun.”
Don’t get too excited, Furler has not revealed any release date or track titles for the record, but if it’s anything like its predecessor – we’re surely in for something huge.
