The British India Australian Tour 2013 has been announced, seeing the rock four-piece returning to stages around the country for the ‘Blinded’ Single Tour.
‘Blinded’ – a cracking punk-pop number – is resplendent with British India’s trademark sense of melody dynamics and Declan Melia’s lyrical prowess. Accompanying the new single is the hilarious video, directed by the band’s guitarist Nic Wilson that takes us back to a disastrous Prom Night circa 1985. (Have a look below.)
The forthcoming tour sees the band poised to round out a stellar 2013 doing what they do best – smoking it live. In between their own headline gigs, the Melbourne boys will take to the road with US rockstars Fall Out Boy, for shows in Adelaide, Brisbane, Melbourne & Sydney.
Next year from January to March you’ll find the guys supporting legendary Australian icons, Hunters & Collectors on their national A Day On The Green winery tour.
‘Blinded’ is taken from British India’s fourth album Controller. Debuting in the ARIA Top 10 (their third consecutive Top 10 debut), the album saw an invigorated band back at the height of their game. Indeed, lead single, ‘I Can Make You Love Me’ has proved the bands’ biggest to date, winning the boys their fifth entry into Triple J’s Hottest 100 – this time at #41. The track is a tick away from GOLD. Subsequent singles ‘Summer Forgive Me’ and ‘Plastic Souvenirs’ continued the album’s forward momentum, loved equally by Triple J and Triple M alike.
Since bursting onto the scene in 2007, British India’s inimitable and furious brand of pop-infused garage punk has seen them catapulted to the highest echelons of Australian rock royalty. ‘Blinded’ will be the final release from Controller. Following the tour, the band will take three months off to return to the studio and commence work on new material for 2014.
