Bruce Springsteen‘s one-man show “Springsteen on Broadway” will be released as a Netflix special on Dec. 15th, the day of the productions final performance.

“Springsteen on Broadway” has been running at the Walter Kerr Theatre since October. It is a two-hour production in which Springsteen merges stripped-down versions of his music with stories of his life, taken from his memoir “Born to Run”. The majority of the show is performed alone, with Springsteen shifting between the piano, guitar and harmonica — he joined by his wife Patti Scialfa for a few songs. The special will be produced by the same people behind the Broadway production.

The Chief Content Officer of Netflix had this to say. ““We are thrilled to bring Bruce Springsteen — a master storyteller, humanitarian and voice of the everyman — to Netflix in this historic one man show. This groundbreaking experience defies the boundaries of theater, concerts and film and will give our global audience an intimate look at one of the biggest cultural icons of our time.”
