Bruce Springsteen is the latest musician to speak out against Trump, and what many believe is his inconsideration for the health of Americans.
The political climate in America is amounting to pure chaos amongst both a global pandemic and Black Lives Matter protests breaking out underneath President Donald Trump’s regime, and many musicians are publicly voicing their opinion against the leader of the United States.
System Of A Down’s Serj Tankian has called for Trump to resign, Lady Gaga has cited Trump as being “a racist and a fool“, and now Bruce Springsteen has called the president “a national disgrace.”
While talking on the latest episode of From His Home To Yours via SiriusXM, Bruce Springsteen noted that Trump’s blatant disregard for the current public health crisis was horrific, pleading with Trump to “put on a fucking mask.”
While Springsteen’s original plan for his radio segment was to dedicate the episode to summer, celebrating a slew of songs, he instead used his time offering prayer to those who have lost friends and family amidst the chaos looming int he United States, and to condemn Trump’s lack of leadership.
“With 100,000 plus Americans dying over the last few months and the empty, shamed response from our leaders, I’ve been simply pissed off,” Springsteen opened with. “Those lives deserve better than being simply inconvenient statistics for our president’s reelection efforts. It’s a national disgrace.”
“So instead of celebrating the joys of summer today, we will be contemplating on our current circumstances with the coronavirus and the cost that it has drawn from our nation. We will be calculating what we’ve lost, sending prayers for the deceased, and the families they’ve left behind.”

Continuing on, Springsteen spelled out a personal message to President Trump due to the leaders continuous refusal to cover his face while in public stating: “With all respect, sir, show some consideration and care for your countrymen and your country. Put on a fucking mask.”
Throughout the rest of his radio show, Springsteen played numerous fitting songs while interspersing the tunes by reading out the names of numerous people, including famed musician John Prine, who passed away due to COVID-19.
Before retiring for the night, Springsteen left listeners with one final, fitting tune: ‘The Man Comes Around’ by Johnny Cash. Offering up his own definition of the song, Springsteen noted: “He is warning us that Judgment Day is coming. The election is only months away. Vote. God help us all. Vote before it’s too late.”
