Pat O’Brien, guitarist of death metal band Cannibal Corpse has been arrested for assault and burglary. O’Brien was arrested on December 10 after he allegedly broke into a neighbour’s home in Tampa, Florida. He also allegedly charged at a sheriff deputy with a knife. All of this happened whilst his house was on fire.

In a report published on WFTSFirefighters responded to the call just after 7.p.m. after a neighbour called 911 reporting smoke and flames. Whilst firefighters attempted to control the blaze, ammunition and “military-style flamethrowers” exploded.

According to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office, O’Brien was told to leave a neighbour’s home, after which he “pushed one of the residents to the ground against her will and fled into the backyard.”

A sheriff deputy arrived at the scene and O’Brien refused to obey “his lawful commands”. O’Brien allegedly “ran towards the deputy with a knife in his right hand.” The deputy tasered O’Brien and took him into custody.

Yesterday Cannibal Corpse announced that they would be joining Lamb Of God, Amon Amarth and Slayer on a North American tour.

Slayer will be heading on their final ever Australian tour in January in support of their appearance at Download Festival.
