Ringing in the new year with new music, Cardi B has announced that her new single ‘UP’ will be out on Friday.

It’s going to be Friday soon and well, Cardi B is making sure that we get into party mode (while social distancing, please). The rapper just announced that she is dropping a new single ‘UP’ this Friday.

The rapper made the announcement on Twitter, releasing official artwork for the single and taking fans by surprise.

In other tweets, she also thanked her fans for their relentless support of her work: “I want to thank all my fans and everyone that genuinely support me.”

“I been preparing for this week for over a month. Unfortunately I’m not feeling how I wanted to feel today. I’m very happy that you guys are happy and just know I do this cause ya go so hard for me.” she wrote.

“I’m human and I believe that I’m strong but it’s just too much sometimes. I can’t thank my fans enough for lifting me up and remaining solid it really be too much.” she continued.

In other news, her track ‘WAP’, featuring Megan Thee Stallion, finally departed the Billboard Hot 100 chart this week. ‘WAP’ (or as we call it, the song of 2020, but in every good way possible) was the first female rap collaboration in history to have debuted No. 1 on the chart, breaking the all-time first week streaming records.

The song also led to her being crowned Billboard’s ‘Woman of The Year’, which she celebrated by clapping back at everyone who’d criticized ‘WAP’ for its overtly sexual material: “You know, the one that sold the most, the one that streamed the most, the one that had Republicans on Fox News crying about it, the one that’s about to be platinum for the sixth time in three months, the one that had your grandma popping her pussy on Tik Tok, yeah bitch, that one.”

Cardi B is also set to make her film debut in a leading role in the upcoming feature Assisted Living.
