After six successful years together, award-winning country star Casey Barnes and Chugg Music have parted ways amicably.
Both parties expressed mutual respect and gratitude for the partnership, with the split representing a natural progression in Barnes’ evolving career trajectory, rather than any creative or business differences.
In May, Barnes announced new US representation, with Nashville music executive Barry Coburn joining the team. Coburn’s background includes managing Alan Jackson, overseeing Keith Urban’s publishing, and serving as CEO of Atlantic Records Nashville.
The announcement came when he released “Buy That Girl a Beer”, his first original since his fifth studio album, Mayday, which was released in May 2024. The album’s success includes a Golden Guitar win for Contemporary Album of the Year.
Barnes’ collaboration with Chugg Music was nothing short of extraordinary, with the artist achieving remarkable milestones like multiple other Golden Guitar and APRA Award wins, as well as an ARIA Award, and several No. 1 singles and albums.
A significant highlight of his international growth was his debut at Stagecoach Festival in the US, where he was the first Australian artist to perform. Barnes has also become a regular presence in Nashville as a result of his reputation.
“I’m incredibly grateful for everything we’ve accomplished together over the past six years, and I’ll always look back on this chapter with pride and appreciation,” Barnes said of the partnership with Chugg Music.
