After the release of her debut LP, Sometimes I Sit And Think, And Sometimes I Just Sit, an album our Tone Deaf writer crowned as “an instant Aussie classic“, Courtney Barnett has absolutely killed it both in Australia and the rest of the world.
The stellar record has debuted at #1 on international charts, she’s slayed it at countless music festivals, not to mention performing on television programs like Ellen – notably the same episode as Michelle Obama’s appearance, and soon the few residual residents of Australia who didn’t know who her name certainly will, thanks to an exclusive television segment dedicated to Barnett that will appear on Channel 7.
Sunday 31 May will see a 20-minute minute piece on Courtney Barnett air on 7’s popular prime time program, Sunday Night – insane, right?
Tone Deaf spoke to her label who explained that the feature was largely centred around Barnett’s UK tour in March, just two weeks after her record was released, as well as bits and pieces shot in Melbourne of the band hanging and jamming as well intimate interview with the lass herself.
This is yet another huge moment in Barnett’s career, she is the first indie artist to be spotlighted on Sunday Night, and thus a massive exposure moment that any rising musician could only dream of.
