Las Vegas rockers, The Killers, performed their recent single ‘Caution’ on The Ellen DeGeneres Show yesterday.

The track will appear on their forthcoming sixth studio album, Imploding the Mirage. It isn’t the first time the track has featured on a chat show, with the band performing it on The Tonight Show earlier this year.

“We hope everybody’s staying healthy and safe,” lead singer Brandon Flowers said in the broadcast.

“We hope to see you all soon in person, one day…”

The Killers first shared ‘Caution’ back in March. It is the lead single from Imploding the Mirage, and was followed by second single ‘Fire in Bone’.

The band originally intended to release Imploding the Mirage in May. However, fans will have to wait a little longer for the album, with the coronavirus pandemic prompting the band to push its release back indefinitely. It will be The Killers’ first studio album since 2017’s Wonderful Wonderful.

The record’s third single, ‘My Own Soul’s Warning, is set to be released on Friday, 17th June.

The Killers earned praise earlier this month when they shared a performance of their track, ‘Land of the Free’, to Instagram. In the performance, the band changed the song’s lyrics to pay tribute to George Floyd, who was killed by a police officer in May.

How many killings must one-man watch in his home,” the new lyric began, “Eight measured minutes and 46 seconds, another boy in the bag/Another stain on the flag.

The “eight measured minutes and 46 seconds” mentioned is a reference to the amount of time for which Derek Chauvin pushed his knee into Floyd’s neck before he died.

“Let’s “break the cycle” of racism and injustice by starting inside of each of us and those we are close to and also work to spread it out from there until it really is the land of the free,” The Killers touring member, Robert Loud, wrote on Instagram.

“There are too many stains on the flag.”
