The first trailer for Dave Grohl’s forthcoming six-part series, From Cradle to Stage, has arrived just in time for Mothers Day.
The series, produced in collaboration with Paramount+ is set to premiere on Thursday, May 6th. From Cradle to Stage is inspired by Virginia Hanlon Grohl’s book of the same name. It’s an ode to famous musicians and the relationship they share with their mothers.
“I believe that the relationship between a musician and their mother is so important because it’s the foundation of their understanding of love, which is surely every artist’s greatest muse,” Grohl statement. “Having the opportunity to travel the country and tell the stories of these amazing women behind the curtain not only shed some light on the music that they inspired, but also made me appreciate the love that I was given from my own mother, my best friend.
“It goes without saying that we are all indebted to the women who have given us life. For without them, there would be no music.”
The episodes for the series are set to be released weekly. The first instalment will explore Imagine Dragons’ Dan Reynolds and mom Christene; episode two on Pharrell and Dr. Carolyn Williams; the third on Miranda Lambert and her mother Bev; the episode four on Brandi Carlile and mom Teresa; the fifth on Rage Against the Machine’s Tom Morello and his mother Mary; and the finale on Rush’s Geddy Lee of Rush and Mary Weinrib.
