Over two years on from the passing of her husband Chester Bennington, Talinda Bennington has taken to social media to announce her engagement.

Back in July of 2017, the music world was shocked to learn of the passing of Linkin Park frontman Chester Bennington.

Following his passing, wife Talinda Bennington took on a public role in honouring Chester’s legacy, leading memorials, sharing statements about his life and impact, and even beginning 320 Changes Direction, a foundation to erase the stigma behind mental health.

Now, Talinda has taken to social media to announce her engagement to future husband Michael F, a Los Angeles County firefighter.

Check out the announcement from Talinda Bennington:

“I am overjoyed to announce my engagement to my angel on earth, Michael F,” Talinda wrote.

“I am here to tell you that you can find love after tragedy. That a death of a soulmate does not mean the death of you. My family, friends, and my Linkin Park brothers welcome him to the family with open arms.

“I will continue to honor Chester and continue my life’s mission to make his passing not in vein [sic].

“To all Suicide Loss Survivors, you CAN be happy again. You CAN have space in your heart for grief, joy, happiness, sadness, and love,” she concluded. “Thank you for ALL of your continued love and support.”

As TMZ notes, the engagement between Talinda and Michael may have actually taken place back in April, with relatives and friends of Chester Bennington reportedly supporting Talinda’s decision wholeheartedly.

In a statement issued shortly after Chester’s death, Talinda spoke of her difficult future, citing a desire to move on from the tragedy, while continuing to honour Chester’s legacy.

“How do I move on? How do I pick up my shattered soul?” Talinda asked. “The only answer I know is to raise our babies with every ounce of love I have left.

“I want to let my community and the fans worldwide know that we feel your love. We feel your loss as well. My babies are so young to have lost their daddy. And I know that all of you will help keep his memory alive.”
