It’s been a big year for Australia’s promoters, with new partnerships forged over the past twelve months promising to deliver big things for Australian music lovers and today is no exception.

In an exciting collaboration, Chugg Entertainment and Rob Potts Entertainment Edge have announced a brand new festival on the Australian festival calendar, the Deni Blues & Roots Festival, to be held at the iconic Deniliquin Ute Muster site.

A “must go” event on the local calendar, The Deniliquin Ute Muster site will now become a regional event centre, with the new festival schedules to be held across the Easter weekend next year.

Michael Chugg and Rob Potts will work with the team behind the Deni Ute Muster, Deni Play on the Plains Festival Ltd to hold the inaugural festival.

The two day event will be held Easter Saturday and Easter Sunday with headline names including Santana, Steve Miller Band, Bonnie Raitt, Chris Isaak and more on March 30th and 31st.

The news arrives as fellow promoters around Australia have also been on a buying and merging spree over the last 12 months, most recently with the announcement of the newly-formed Virgin Live between Paul Dainty and Richard Branson, forged to promote The Rolling Stones’ 50th Anniversary shows.

The Dainty Group has also partnered with former Big Day Out promoter Vivian Lees to create Two Worlds Touring last September. Meanwhile Lees’ former partner, Ken West sought solace in a new partnership with C3 Presents, the international company responsible for the likes of Lollapalooza and Austin City Limits, bringing their considerable promotional power to the Big Day Out 2013, which is set to sell out in a matter of weeks.

It’s also the second venture into Australia’s festival market for Michael Chugg in the past few months, after his Chugg Entertainment group recently announced alliances with Homebake 2012 as co-promoters.

Making the announcement, Michael Chugg said, “We’re so excited to bring this new event to Deniliquin for the first time. This is an area with a strong tradition of bringing people together for a good time and with the calibre of acts on this line-up, they won’t be disappointed.”

“To make a successful festival you need a great site, access to lots of people, world class staging and infrastructure and a killer line-up of great international and local talent,” added Rob Potts, CEO of Rob Potts Entertainment Edge.

“We’re always excited about building a new festival, especially when everything seems just right for the occasion.”

“The inaugural Deni Blues & Roots Festival at Easter on the famous Deni Ute Muster site brings all of these components together over one million holiday makers and locals take a break and play on the Murray and Edward Rivers. We’re always excited about building a new festival, especially when everything seems just right for the occasion.”

Chugg and Potts have worked hard along with Deni Play on the Plains Festival Ltd Board and staff when they announced their plans to run the muster site into a broader entertainment complex from earlier this year, saying its implementation would depend on government funding for site improvements. Funding which was confirmed earlier this year by Regional Development Australia.

“The inaugural Deni Blues & Roots Festival is an exciting new event for us to be a part of,” says Matthew Lazarus-Hall, CEO Chugg Entertainment.

“Having worked on a number of great festivals over the years that are staged around the Easter long weekend, we know that this is the perfect time of year for people to get away from their busy lives for a few days and enjoy some great live music.”

The venue is fully licensed.
