Australian hardcore favourites Confession recently announced they would be calling it quits following one final tour. As a fitting farewell, they will play their final Victorian show at UNIFY Gathering 2016.
“We are stoked to be included on the lineup for Unify this year as our final Victorian show,” said Confession’s Michael Crafter. “The lineup includes bands we’ve shared the stage with for many years and a lot of close friends also working behind the scenes who make the festival happen.”
“It’s also great to wind the band up on another Parkway Drive headlined lineup, the band that’s helped Confession out more than anyone.”
Meanwhile, Festival Curator Luke Logemann said, “Confession were okay on the festival last year. I didn’t really want them back but Crafter said he’d bash me if I didn’t.”
“But seriously, Crafter has been involved in Australian Hardcore for nearly two decades and we can’t wait for the UNIFY crowd to see him out in the best possible way.”
Organisers have already announced the likes of Parkway Drive, In Hearts Wake, Tonight Alive, Neck Deep, State Champs, and Stray From The Path among the 18 bands who will be rocking crowds over two days.
If you’re looking to head down next year, a standard ticket will cost you $149 + bf, which is a bit of a jump on the 2015 ticket price, but organisers are assuring punters it’s a “necessary adjustment” to make 2016 even better.
“The lineup, the site layout and the amenities will be a considerable step up this time around, while still retaining everything you loved about Year One. Trust us, it’s going to be worth every cent for what we have programmed!” organisers write.
UNIFY Gathering enjoyed an extremely successful launch earlier this year, with a stacked lineup featuring some of Australia’s biggest names in heavy music, including The Amity Affliction, In Hearts Wake, Deez Nuts, Thy Art Is Murder, and Northlane.
