Australian artists based in Nashville appear to be unharmed following the devastating Tornado in Nashville overnight.
Tragically, up to 22 people are believed to have been killed as a result of the incident and the city is currently in a state of emergency.
48 buildings have also been significally damaged.
East Nashville and the Germantown neighbourhood were amongst the worst effected areas.
Australian artists who were in Nashville when the Tornado struck have reported to friends, family and fans back home via social media that they are ok.
Morgan Evans was one of those artists.
“It was a horrific night for Nashville. Thank you for all the messages we’ve received. Kels and I are ok, but many are not,” he said.
While O’Shea’s Mark and Jay O’Shea were out of town when it all happened.
“Luckily our sweet town of Franklin was not hit but I believe East NASHVILLE, German Town and Mt. Juliet were hit terribly. We have many friends who are in the thick of it. So so sad and devastating. :((((,” said Jay O’Shea.
Just 24 hours prior, O’Shea hosted the Nashville Global APRA Awards event, where Seaforth, Tommy Emmanuel, Rick Price, Phil Barton and Evans received awards.
Sister trio Dozzi, who performed at the event, have also reported that they ok along with Kristy Cox, Nikita Karmen, Sam Hawksley, Katrina Burgoyne, Diana Corcoran and writer/producers Lindsay Rimes and Lindsey Jackson.
Eric Fortaleza, the Nashville based Australian bass player for US artist Lindsay Ell also reported that he was safe and well.
“I found our trash can under this tree. I am safe but my house has minor damages and we lost our power. Not many people were as lucky, a number of lives and houses have been lost,” he said.
So thankfully, it appears all the Aussies over in Nashville are ok.
