The 2019 CMA Awards, hosted by Carrie Underwood, Dolly Parton and Reba McEntire have just concluded.
The hosts opened the show along with a medley of songs from country music’s most celebrated female artists along with The Highwomen, Tucker Tucker, Crystal Gayle, Terri Clarke, Sara Evans, Gretchen Wilson and Martina McBride.
The big winners on the night were Luke Combs and Kacey Musgraves with two wins each.
“Country music means everything to me, and this means everything to me and my family,” said Luke Combs when excepting the award for Male Vocalist of the Year.
Other winners included Entertainer of the Year winner Garth Brooks, Album of the Year winner Maren Morris, Old Dominion, Dan + Shay, Ashley McBryde, Blake Shelton plus Billy Ray Cyrus and Lil Nas X.
Morris made special mention of the album’s co-producer Busbee, who passed away recently.
“I hope when when they listen to this record, they know how amazing their father was,” she said when referencing his children.
Before the show, Jennifer Nettles made a huge statement for equality on the red carpet.
While Kelsea Ballerini, who was a red carpet standout, was also standout performer on the night.
