YouTube Originals will premiere the documentary film The Gift: The Journey of Johnny Cash on November 11.
The 90-minute film about the Man in Black’s life features newly discovered archival materials plus interviews with Cash’s family members, musical collaborators and friends.
Emmylou Harris, who is featured in the film says, “He had a message and his message was the truth about being alive in this world.”
Directed the Grammy-winning Thom Zimny (Elvis Presley: The Searcher, Springsteen on Broadway), The Gift: The Journey of Johnny Cash debuted in March at the SXSW Film Festival.
It also screened recently at the Telluride Film Festival.
It will also screen at the 50th Annual Nashville Film Festival next week.
For everyone else, it will be available for free on YouTube from Monday November 11.
