Courtney Love has proven that the old adage of ‘the more the merrier’ rings true, performing one of her classic hits with one-and-half thousand musicians.

You might remember how back in 2015, a group of 1,000 Italian Foo Fighters fans came together to appeal to Dave Grohl and co. to pay their humble town a visit for the first time since 2015.

To well and truly grab the band’s attention, this musical collective set up shop in field just outside of the city to perform a rousing rendition of the Foo Fighters’ 1999 track ‘Learn To Fly’. After a full day of filming – and a few more for editing – the clip was posted online, where it went viral almost immediately.

This group of musicians – dubbed the Rockin’1000 – soon got their wish, with the Foo Fighters later visiting the Italian city of Cesena in November of 2015.

Fast-forward three years, and now Courtney Love has hooked up with these same musicians, performing some of her own classic tracks.

As Billboard reports, the Rockin’1000 took part in the That’s Live 2018 benefit concert back in July, which aimed to raise money for San Patrignano, a community program for drug addiction rehabilitation.

Having expanded to 1,500 musicians, the sprawling band performed a 18-song set that featured covers from the likes of The Rolling Stones, Nirvana, The Black Keys, Pixies, and even Linkin Park. Most notably though, their performance also featured a rather special guest by way of Courtney Love.

Taking to the stage alongside Rockin’1000, Courtney Love teamed up with the band to perform a handful of Hole songs, including the 1998 classic ‘Celebrity Skin’.

“The first time I saw the Rockin’1000 video, I thought, ‘I want to do that! The sight and sound of a thousand musicians connecting with their audience in this open, transcultural way was incredible,” explained Love of her desire to perform with the group.

“It reminded me of the early punk scene, with its community centered around diversity and acceptance. And after I learned about Rockin’1000’s and Only the Brave Foundation’s commitment to San Patrignano, a charity dedicated to fighting addiction and social exclusion, I knew I had to be a part of it.”

While the performance took place in Italy back in July, the Rockin’1000 have just now released the video of their performance with Courtney Love. According to the setlist, Love also teamed up to perform covers of ‘Olympia’ and ‘Malibu’, but we’re not quite sure when or if they’re ever going to surface.
