Japan’s leading metalcore legends Crossfaith recently released their new album Apocalyze through Halfcut / Shock Records in Australia, and to celebrate the release the band are currently in Australia touring with Bring Me The Horizon.
We caught up with Crossfaith to chat what they eat on tour, their favourite venue to eat at and what dish they would like to cook for tour buddies Bring Me The Horizon.
What were your food influences when you were growing up and what kind of food did you eat at home or with your family?
In Japan, people usually eat rice with almost every dish, I think its like a bread for western people. When I was kid, my favourite food was fried noodle! My mother is not cooking person, so she always made almost same dishes. But I love her foods!
What dish or cuisine do you most like to eat on tour and why?
Curry! That is one of my favorite foods in the world! And also curry is super famous food in Japan. Japanese eat curry with rice, so they call it ‘Curry rice’. Japanese version of curry is really easy to ready and eat.
What is your ideal cooking playlist?
I think country is what most fit with cooking! My mother is best chef in the world, and your mother too, isn’t she? So country is the best music for cooking!
What type of food do you make sure to avoid before a gig or going on stage?
Greasy foods! My stomach is not strong, so it always makes me heartburn. Actually I love greasy foods but I always Avoid them before the stage.
What’s the most outrageous food you’ve ever asked for on a rider?
Kangaroo ball! We asked it for the rider in Australia, but it was not gonna happen. Of course next time I will order Kangaroo ball!

If you could invent a candy bar what would it be?
Candy is always sour or sweet, so I will try to make it salty! Eat with bread or rice! It’s like a fast food! I think it would be famous! Don’t you wanna try salty candy?
If you were to cook a meal for the members of Bring Me The Horizon while on their upcoming tour, what would you cook them?
I’d love to cook Rice Ball for them. it’s really famous meal in Japan and we all love it. We can fill any kinds of foods into Rice Ball. My favorite one is Tuna Mayonnaise Rice Ball! I hope they will love it!
