The desk used to record Pink Floyd’s magnum opus Dark Side of the Moon has just sold at auction for $2.35M (AUD).
The recording console once called London’s Abbey Road Studios home. It is a custom EMI TG12345 MK IV console which Abbey Road engineer Brian Gibson claims is the “greatest to ever be constructed.”
As Dangerous Minds points out, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, Kate Bush, and The Cure also recorded on the console throughout the ’70s and ’80s.
More pictures of the console can be found here.
