The Darkside Australian Tour 2014 has been announced, with the pair of idiosyncratic electronic composer Nicolas Jaar and guitarist Dave Harrington making their Down Under debut next April.
Darkside’s debut album, Psychic, was released in Australia last month to worldwide critical acclaim, with everyone from Billboard to Time Out and MOJO singing the praises of the duo’s finely crafted album. Darkside’s debut secured two back-to-back “Best New Tracks” from Pitchfork, and hundreds of fans to an impromptu listening session in New York’s Lower East Side.
Now Modular are pleased to announce some much-anticipated Australian tour dates for April 2014 from the pair, with tickets going on sale this Thursday 21 November. Sydney’s up-and-comers Movement will be supporting all of Darkside’s headline shows.
Nicolas Jaar and Dave Harrington have been playing and touring together since late 2011, off the back of the former’s breakout album Space Is Only Noise. It was around this time that Darkside was conceived, releasing their debut self-titled EP in December that year.
Currently on tour in North America, the ‘Psychic Tour’ follows on from sold-out shows in London, Berlin and Brussels. For a taster of what we can expect during the upcoming Australian dates, (take a peek at ‘Nico’ and Dave in action at a recent Resident Advisor session here).
Don’t miss your chance to catch Darkside in action when they head to the southern hemisphere next April.
