Dashboard Confessional has contributed a cover of Post Malone’s ‘Circles’ to the Spotify Singles series. Chris Carrabba also recorded a new version of their 2000 anthem ‘Screaming Infidelities’.

It’s no secret that Post Malone was entrenched in the world of emo before forging a career as a bona fire popstar. The Dashboard Confessional take on ‘Circles’ is truly a testament to Posty’s emo roots. That chorus has mid-2000s Fueled By Ramen signee written all over it.

“We stopped by the iconic Electric Lady studios during the NYC dates of the DC20 tour. The amazing energy in the room led us to creating an exciting, new and very different version of ‘Screaming Infidelities’ and a cover of Post Malone’s “Circles.” I hope you love them as much as we loved making them,” Carraba shared in a statement.

Earlier this month, Post Malone executed a livestreamed Nirvana cover set, in an attempt to raise funds for coronavirus relief. The set raised a whopping $2.5 million USD, a sum that was matched by Google at a 2:1 rate.

Say what you will about Posty but the man has chops. Pummelling through excellent renditions of  ‘Come As You Are’, ‘Heart-Shaped Box’, ‘About A Girl’ and stacks more. The set went for over an hour and saw Malone joined by blink-182 drummer Travis Barker — via isolation, of course.
