In June of 2015, the Foo Fighters were in the middle of a gig in Gothenburg, Sweden, when Dave Grohl apparently misjudged how much room he had on stage, took a tumble, and ended up with a broken leg.
Like the champions that they are, he Foo Fighters ended up finishing the gig, once a medic had strapped up Grohl’s broken leg. Sadly though, the group were forced to cancel a number of upcoming gigs at the time, including a headlining spot at Glastonbury.
Now, two years on, Dave Grohl has reunited with that Swedish medic that assisted him, sharing a photo of the two together on Facebook with the caption “REUNITED!”
Dave Grohl also recently opened up to The Herald Sun in which he revealed that the surgery for his broken leg was organised by none other than former Beatle, and Foo Fighters collaborator, Paul McCartney.
“He and his family basically set up my entire surgery in London after I broke my leg,” Grohl said. “It still blows my mind.
“I wouldn’t be playing music if it wasn’t for Paul McCartney because I learned how to play guitar with Beatles songbooks and playing along to Beatles records. But I also would not be not be walking right now if it was not for Paul McCartney. He knows some good fucking doctors.”
Dave Grohl and co. managed to release their long-awaited ninth record Concrete And Gold yesterday, to rave reviews. In case you may have forgotten, the Foo Fighters are also planning to tour Australia in January of next year in support of the new record with alt-rock legends Weezer. Tickets for these shows go on sale next week, so be sure to get in quick!
