TV on the Radio mastermind Dave Sitek has joined Jane’s Addiction on bass for the recording of the band’s new album. He replaces Guns n’ Roses and Velvet Revolver bassist Duff Mackagan who is the latest in the band’s revolving door of bassists to walk out.
It seems unlikely that Sitek will remain in the band to tour the as yet unnamed follow up to 2003’s Strays, as the band used a fill in bassist for a New Year’s Eve show in Colorado.
The new album is shrouded in secrecy, with the only a few morsels of information released by front man Perry Farrell, who says, rather vaguely, that the band are “fully immersed in the process of making modern music. It has been a great experience thus far, and the results have so much potential”.
