Get ready for one of the strangest collaborations in musical history, with David Hasselhoff set to cover Neil Diamond with Ministry’s Al Jourgensen.
2019 has already been a major year for fans of music. After all, we’ve seen new records from Rammstein and Slipknot, and while Tool are set to release their long-awaited record later this month, September will see the iconic David Hasselhoff unleash his latest record.
Earlier this year, the former Baywatch star revealed that he was working on a new album, which was set to feature something more of a heavier side than fans might expect.
“I’m doing some heavy metal songs on my new album,” Hasselhoff explained to Germany’s Zeit, “Why not?”
“I do not have an album title yet, but it should read: ‘Everything is allowed.’ I do everything. Because I can. Because I want it.”
While fans were wondering just what this new record might include, we now have something of an idea, with the musician sharing the new record’s tracklist, revealing some of the special guests who will feature on the upcoming release.
As Blabbermouth notes, David Hasselhoff is gearing up to release Open Your Eyes on September 27th, which will feature a wide variety of covers and guest appearances.
While fans will witness covers of tracks like ‘I Melt With You’, ‘If You Could Read My Mind’, and ‘Heroes’, we’ll also bear witness to guest appearances from A Flock of Seagulls, Tracii Guns, Charlie Daniels, and Billy Idol guitarist Steve Stevens.
Interestingly, there will also be something for Aussie fans as well, with Hasselhoff set to revisit his cover of The Ted Mulry Gang’s ‘Jump In My Car’, performing the tune with Todd Rundgren this time around.
However, the most shocking revelation from this new record is that Hasselhoff will be taking on Neil Diamond’s ‘Sweet Caroline’ alongside none other than Ministry’s Al Jourgensen.
As one of the most famed and menacing members of the world of industrial metal, the team of Hasselhoff and Jourgensen is undoubtedly not one that fans thought they would receive, but one they’re certainly interested in hearing the end result of.
